VUFort Lauderdale, Fla.—American Land Ventures (ALV), along with joint venture partner MetLife Real Estate Investors, has introduced its newest development project, VU | New River, which is ahead of schedule with construction after topping off in March in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Developers are anticipating completion in the final quarter of 2014 and are targeting LEED certification.

Construction crews at the 209-unit luxury high rise, located along the New River, placed the final steel beam 30 days ahead of schedule and efforts will now shift toward the building’s interiors and modern finishes. The new building will rise 18 stories just blocks away from Ft. Lauderdale’s revered Las Olas Boulevard and will offer a level of luxury that will appeal to a variety of different renters.

“VU’s ideal location on the New river in Downtown Fort Lauderdale merges the serene beach scene with an upbeat metropolitan lifestyle,” says Tammy Britton, executive director for ALV. “Aside from the amazing amenities and a’ la mode touches throughout the building, residents will definitely enjoy living only a few minutes away from the popular shopping, restaurants and nightlife of Las Olas Boulevard.”

The community will offer 14 different floor plans in one-, two- and three-bedroom formats. Each residence will feature condo-level finishes with an assortment of far-reaching ocean and skyline views. The amenities package will include an exclusive rooftop clubroom with city and ocean views, a full-body circuit fitness center with CrossFit components, TRX equipment and cardio equipment connected to social media. Other amenities include an outdoor movie theater, an infinity edge lap pool, a coffee bar in the lobby, innovative social media hubs and valet parking.

“We are committed to developing ‘best of class’ developments in urban core markets; this project serves as a good example of that commitment,” says ALV President, Granvil Tracy. “In addition to a unique riverfront location, the project will be one of the only new rentals in Fort Lauderdale to be LEED certified.”

Add Inc. was the architect for the project, while engineering was provided by Craven Thompson & Associates, ONM&J and Steve Feller. G.T. McDonald was tapped as the general contractor.
