Affordable Eco-Friendly Project Debuts in Fort Worth Suburb

KWA Construction and its partners have completed work on Villas at Boston Heights, a 144-unit, LEED Gold community in Benbrook, Texas.

KWA Construction has finished work on Villas at Boston Heights, a 165,000-square-foot, garden-style community in the Fort Worth suburb of Benbrook, Texas. Designed to LEED Gold standards, the $28 million property features 144 units. KWA worked with developer OM Housing and BGO Architects to build the eco-friendly property. The firm is also currently building a 86,362-square-foot project in Dallas.

Located at 3510 Boston Ave., Villas at Boston Heights is some five miles from Benbrook Lake and roughly eight miles from downtown Fort Worth. The property contains green-based features such as low-emitting VOC building materials, enhanced insulation and energy-efficient window systems. Villas at Boston Heights comprises one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, all with Energy Star appliances, high-efficiency lighting and water-saving fixtures. These features can reduce utility bills by roughly $40 per month. Amenities include:

  • a community center
  • swimming pool
  • barbecue grills
  • picnic area
  • fitness center
  • onsite laundry facility

With eight two- and three-story buildings, the property features 130 units set aside for residents earning 30, 50 and 60 percent of the area’s median income and 14 market-rate apartments. According to Yardi Matrix data, Alpha-Barnes Real Estate Services manages the property.
