Vista, Calif.—Affirmed Housing Group has opened Paseo Pointe, a mixed-use affordable apartment community at 325 South Santa Fe in Vista, Calif. The property was built for households earning between 30 percent and 60 percent of San Diego County’s area median income.
Paseo Pointe includes 69 residences: three studios, 21 one-bedroom units, 24 two bedrooms and 21 three bedrooms. The property is comprised of two three-story buildings connected by a pedestrian bridge, plus a third standalone building.
The development contains ground-floor retail space, central management offices, a community room with kitchen, laundry facilities, a computer room, a library, an outdoor courtyard with barbecues, green space and a tot lot. The tot lot is in view of the laundry room and other common areas to facilitate parental supervision of children at play. The property is also within walking distance from the Vista Transit Center, a stop along the Sprinter light rail and the Breeze bus line.
“We’ve built these homes near mass transit to help reduce the need for personal vehicles,” said Affirmed President James Silverwood. “That’s a sustainable achievement that affects both the residents and the entire community.” On the occasion of the property’s opening, the Vista Community Clinic also presented the project with a Smoke-Free Champion Award, acknowledging its status as a smoke-free development.
Paseo Pointe was designed by Studio E Architects. The general contractor was Wermers; the civil engineer was Kettner Leweck Engineering; and the landscape architect was Darsono Design Associates Inc.
