A Place for the Outdoorsman to Lay His Head in Tucson
Breathtaking views of the Catalina Mountains coupled with close proximity to Sabino Canyon and Udall Park ensure that Finisterra is in a prime location for the outdoor enthusiast.
In Northeast Tucson Arizona, a half mile south of Tanque Verde, the 26-acre Finisterra is located between Davis Monthan Air Force Base and the University of Arizona. Breathtaking views of the Catalina Mountains coupled with close proximity to Sabino Canyon and Udall Park ensure that Finisterra is in a prime location for the outdoor enthusiast.
The property was purchased in July 2008 by NALS, which owns and operates multifamily communities throughout the western United States.
A quick drive past Finisterra and its impeccably manicured landscape will have anyone turning in for more information. Inside, prospective residents are greeted with the fragrance of fresh-baked cookies and gourmet coffee in a luxurious social lounge. Finisterra offers five floor plans with one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Each of the 300 apartments is equipped with full-sized washers and dryers, nine-foot ceilings, audible intrusion alarms and dual-pane French windows. Units average $927 per month.
Residents enjoy 24-hour accessibility to the site’s exclusive athletic club, which includes XM radio, two plasma televisions, towel service and lush pool views. A junior Olympic-length pool nestled in a blossoming garden of palm trees and flowering bushes, the pool at Finisterra matches in quality to many fine resorts. Wi-Fi accessibility and XM radio coupled with the soothing sound of the water features make for the perfect setting. Heated throughout the winter and surrounded by cabanas, Finisterra’s pool is a prime destination any time of the year. Recent upgrades to the pool area, including cabanas, cushioned seating, XM radio and Wi-Fi access, ensure that Finisterra’s pool is never empty.
An apartmentratings.com review notes, “We have only been here six weeks, but we already feel we could live here forever. The apartments are wonderful, [the] grounds gorgeous, pool/spa/fitness center top-notch and the management first-class.”
One of Finisterra’s main goals is to create a sense of community, which it does by hosting four resident functions per year, each significantly different. Residents can celebrate the arrival of summer with an extravagant luau, tour a haunted house in the fall, satisfy a sweet tooth with a winter dessert party, or be pampered pool-side at a wine and cheese tasting.
Finisterra has been a top fundraiser in years past for the annual Southern Arizona charity event “Big Hearts for Little Hands.” And, joining forces with the U.S. Navy, Finisterra’s Toys for Tots drive is a huge success during the holidays. After a recent upgrade to the Athletic Center, Finisterra donated two treadmills to the local fire station. In late 2008, the property decided to “Go Green” by adding a recycling center on site and continues to find ways to be environmentally friendly. Low-flow faucets and recycled office paper are other elements of Finisterra’s “NALS Cares” project.
