Yacht Facility Underway at Miami Mixed-Use Development

Maimi—According to Flagstone Property Group, the marina part of its mixed-use development Island Gardens will be completed by the end of this year, in time for Art Basel, Miami’s international art show for modern and contemporary works. The facility, to be known as the Deep Harbour at Island Gardens, will be able to accommodate 50 large yachts—exactly the sort of yachts that tend to show up in Miami around the time of Art Basel.

Deep Harbour will accommodate yachts up to 550 feet and offer various amenities, including in-slip fueling. It will provide customs and immigration clearance to guests and residents arriving via yacht, and will also serve as the future home of Superyacht Miami, a new boutique show by Show Management designed to cater to superyachts.

Besides the marina, the overall development will include residential, retail, restaurant, and hotel components, which will completed by 2017. Cervera Real Estate, which specializes in high-end condo sales, has been tapped as the sales and marketing company for the residences at Island Gardens

Located on Watson Island, the development is between Miami Beach and Downtown Miami. Watson Island is a manmade island in Biscayne Bay that forms a neighborhood in Miami, and is connected to the rest of the city, as well as South Beach, by the MacArthur Causeway.

Nichols BroschWurst Wolfe & Associates, one of whose specialties is mixed-use properties and hotels and resorts, is Island Gardens’ architect of record. Coastal Construction Group of South Florida is handling the overall construction; a team of marina builders, including Technomarine Group, is at work on that part of the project.
