Work Begins on Partially Affordable SLC Community
Millcreek Station will encompass 70 units. Of those, 56 will target households with incomes ranging from 25 to 50 percent of the area’s median income.
An individual investor has begun work on Millcreek Station, a 70-unit community in Salt Lake City. According to Yardi Matrix data, the future community is set to include 56 affordable apartments available to residents earning between 25 and 50 percent of the area’s median income.
Located at 3196 S. Washington St. adjacent to the Millcreek TRAX station, the development is slated to be a five-story building. Built on an almost 1-acre parcel of vacant land, the community will be close to restaurants, offices and retail. Millcreek Station will feature a mix of one- to four-bedroom units, while amenities are set to include a clubhouse, fitness facility, playground, bike storage room, swimming pool and 96 parking spaces.
Salt Lake City is in the middle of a development boom. Recently, a 287-unit project broke ground less than 2 miles away. In the same intersection, nonprofit Columbus Community Center began work on a 200,000 square-foot, 156-unit mixed-use residential project.
