Wood Partners Opens Luxury Community in Oakland
The 196-unit Alta Waverly marks the company’s fourth property in the city and eighth in Northern California.
After the debut of the 110-unit Valentina by Alta in San Diego, Wood Partners opened Alta Waverly, a 196-unit luxury community in Oakland, Calif. The firm broke ground on the development in 2016 and received $60 million in construction financing from BMO Harris Bank, according to Yardi Matrix. The loan is set to mature by the end of 2020. Alta Waverly marks the company’s fourth development in Oakland and eighth in Northern California.
At 2302 Valdez St., Alta Waverly is situated within a 15-minute walk of Oakland’s downtown and it is also near districts such as Uptown, Lake Merritt and Grand Lake. Additionally, the property is close to the 19th Street BART station, which provides convenient access to San Francisco and the Bay Area. The community is also part of The Block at Valdez, a 46,500-square-foot walkable retail space on Valdez Street.
The newly delivered Alta Waverly encompasses a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units, featuring stainless steel appliances, air conditioning, washers and dryers and hard-surface flooring. Property amenities include a DIY Maker Space, clubroom, fitness center with yoga studio, TV lounge, barbecue station and dog run, to mention a few.
