Wood Partners has opened Alta Green Mountain, a new 260-unit luxury community in the Denver suburb of Lakewood, Colo. The developer broke ground on the property located at 13055 W. Mississippi Court this past March.

Leasing is currently underway on the apartments, which come in one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans. Each unit has a private balcony, washer and dryer, keyless entry and upscale finishes including granite countertops and faux wood flooring. The pet-friendly community includes a dog wash and on-site dog run as well as a double-height fitness center, coworking spaces and an outdoor kitchen with a dining area.

The gated community sits on 12.6 acres west of downtown Denver at the foot of Green Mountain, neighboring the 2,400 acres of open space in William Frederick Hayden Park. Some units offer views of the mountain or the Denver skyline. Residents also have access to Safeway, Whole Foods, Natural Grocers and Sprouts grocery stores nearby.

The site is located 2 miles from the Denver Federal Center, the largest cluster of federal agencies outside of the U.S. capital, which employs more than 6,200 people, and 4 miles down West Alameda Avenue from Belmar, a large lifestyle mall and employment hub.

Mile High City sees strong demand

Demographic and economic growth remain strong in Denver, fueling healthy demand for multifamily housing. About 7,100 units were added to the metro area in 2019 through September, according to a recent Yardi Matrix report

Gelt Inc. sold Westhills Apartment Homes, a 400-unit community in Lakewood, for $92 million in September. An undisclosed buyer picked up the renovated, 27-building property at 453 Van Gordon St.
