Wood Partners has opened its second multifamily community in San Diego—the 110-unit Valentina by Alta—and its fifth in California that is managed or developed by the national real estate multifamily development company.

Located at 1919 Pacific Highway, the new development is in the heart of Little Italy in downtown San Diego. Valentina by Alta is located near upscale restaurants, cocktail lounges and boutiques as well as the popular farmers’ market. Residents will also have access to the outdoor and cultural activities in Waterfront Park and the Embarcadero.

Amenities in the open-concept units include foyers, gas ranges, oversized kitchen islands, walk-in spa showers, full-size washers and dryers and private balconies. Community features include a resort-style pool overlooking the bay with a pool house and cabana, on-site gym with separate yoga studio and planned group fitness classes, a resident parlor and salon and both a bay and sky terrace with water views. Bike and surfboard storage will also be provided.

Busy Times for Wood

Last week, Wood Partners began vertical construction on Alta Headwaters, a 328-unit luxury community in Orlando, Fla., that is scheduled to deliver in the second quarter of 2020. Located at 10501 S. John Young Parkway, the site occupies 15.3 acres and located about 11 miles south of downtown Orlando. Wood Partners has developed six Alta-branded properties in Orlando and has two under construction.

In July, construction began on Alta Civic Station, a 318-unit luxury apartment community in Gresham, Ore., a growing suburb of Portland, Ore. Scheduled to open in spring 2021, it is the fourth Wood Partners apartment community in the Portland area. One of those projects will be the 314-unit Alta Art Tower in Portland’s Goose Hollow neighborhood that also had a groundbreaking this summer.

Also in July, Wood Partners began expanding its Texas offerings with construction beginning on a 364-unit luxury community in Houston’s affluent River Oaks neighborhood. Preleasing for Alta River Oaks is slated to begin in fall 2020 with an estimated opening in the fourth quarter of 2020. It is located within miles of downtown Houston’s Central Business District and Uptown of Greenway Plaza. Other nearby job centers include the Galleria, Energy Corridor, University of Houston, Rice University and Texas Medical Center.
