Hopkinton, Mass.—Wood Partners has announced that construction is nearly completed at its $45 million development, Alta Legacy Farms, in Hopkinton, Mass. The 240-unit luxury community, located in the master-planned Legacy Farms project, opened for lease in July 2013 and is 43 percent leased.
Wood Residential Services, the property management division of Wood Partners, is in charge of managing the community.
“With Greater Boston’s high-barrier markets and strong demographics, we are thrilled to be in this market and look forward to continued success in Hopkinton as well as at our other sites,” Adelaide Grady, Wood Partners director of development in the Boston area tells MHN.
Wood Partners currently has five deals under construction in the Boston area—located in Hopkinton, Melrose, Watertown, Wakefield and Cambridge. Alta Legacy Farms is likely expected to be completely done with construction in about a month.
The Legacy Farms development is a 730-acre mixed-use suburban community that is composed of 940 single-family and attached homes, 450,000 square feet of commercial space and more than 500 acres that has been set aside for preserved and restored open space.
The apartment componenet, Alta Legacy Farms, will include a mix of one- and two-bedroom units that will range in size from 772 to about 1,200 square feet. Sixty units in the community will be designated as affordable housing, which will be available to residents who earn 80 percent or less of the Area Median Income. Those units will consist of 39 one-bedroom units and 21 two-bedroom units.
The garden-style, three-story walkup community, which will be separated from the rest of the master-planned development by existing wetlands and vegetation, is based on 18 acres, 6 acres of which has been set aside as permanent conservation land.
Community amenities at Alta Legacy Farms include an indoor package consisting of a clubroom with tasting lounge, billiard room, coffee bar, media room, business center and cyber café, a theater and a fitness center equipped with televisions on cardio equipment. Outside, adjoin the clubhouse, amenities include a lounge area with fire pit and built-in grilling stations and a resort-style pool with sundeck.
Inside the units, residents will enjoy luxurious living spaces marked by finishes such as wood cabinets, granite countertops, kitchen islands, wood-looking vinyl plank flooring in the kitchens and entry ways and an energy-efficient appliance package. Bathrooms will feature cultured marble vanities with integral sinks, and washers and dryers will be included in all units.
“Everything about Hopkinton makes it a highly desireable location,” Grady says. “We took inspiration from our surroundings to construct Alta Legacy Farms as a perfect extension of small town New England life. These new apartments with all the conveniences are built on expertly conserved and restored surroundings.”
