Wood Partners has broken ground on Alta West Alabama, a 304-unit luxury community near the Uptown neighborhood in Houston. The multifamily developer’s newest project is slated to open in the third quarter of 2020, adding to the company’s existing portfolio of 16 properties managed in Texas.

Located at 3623 W. Alabama St., the community will provide units ranging in size from one to three bedrooms, with open-concept designs and high-end finishes. Each unit will include a full-size washer and dryer. Common amenities will run the gamut from a large pool and courtyard with an outdoor kitchen space to a clubroom, gaming lounge and sky lounge with pool tables.

The site, located between the River Oaks and Greenway/Upper Kirby neighborhoods, is expected to benefit from its proximity to downtown Houston and other job centers, including the healthcare and research facilities at the Texas Medical Center. The property is also nearby several grocery options and the Highland Village Shopping Center.

Wood Partners’ Texas portfolio includes three properties in Houston, with Alta West Alabama being among the four new projects under development in the city. The company started work on Alta Med Main, a four-story, 338-unit community at 9330 Main St., in January. The project is located less than four miles to the south of Alta West Alabama.
