Orlando, Fla.—Wendover Housing Partners announced the ground breaking of Wellington Park, an affordable apartment community in Apopka, Fla., located at the corner of Thompson Road and East 1st Street.

“As with all of Wendover’s family affordable communities, we took time to find the perfect location for Wellington Park, which is close to public transportation, major highways, schools, health care facilities and entertainment options,” said Jonathan Wolf, president & founder of Wendover Housing Partners.

The 120-unit development comprising one-, two- and three bedroom apartments will offer open floor plans with energy efficient appliances; walk-in closets; galley kitchens with eating bars; window coverings and washer and dryer connections. Amenities for the community include a swimming pool, playground, business center, fitness center and a car care facility.

“Part of Wendover’s mission is to create quality housing at affordable prices for hard-working families, as well as building tight-knit communities with our free resident programs and events. Breaking ground on Wellington Park in Apopka is another great step towards that continued goal,” Wolf told Multi-Housing News. “We are looking forward to accepting applications for new residents this summer.”

Construction on the development will be completed in November 2017 and rental applications will be accepted starting in August.
