Waypoint Residential Opens Greystar-Run Property

This transit-oriented New Jersey project offers easy access to New York City.

The Walcott Hackensack, a multifamily community owned by Waypoint Residential and managed by Greystar, has opened in its namesake city of Hackensack, N.J.

Located at 435 Main Street, the six-story brick-and-metal Class A property features 225 multifamily residences, including two-story townhouses and lofts, as well as studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments. Floor plans range from 418-square-foot studio apartments to 1,516-square-foot two-bedrooms townhouses with multiple bathrooms.

Residences incorporate features like custom stone islands and countertops, full-size washers and dryers, spacious walk-in closets, above-standard ceiling height and either private terraces or Juliet balconies. Property amenities include a game room with billiards and shuffleboard.

Close proximity to transit, New York area

The Walcott Hackensack is situated in an urban infill site within a Qualified Opportunity Zone. A transit-oriented development, the apartment community is near a New Jersey Transit rail station and a bus stop offering service to Manhattan.

In a prepared company statement, a Waypoint Residential executive noted that The Walcott Hackensack is situated in a walkable location on Main Street, with public transportation, restaurants and retail and nightlife options all within walking distance. The area is home to several anchor institutions, including the Hackensack University Medical Center and Farleigh Dickinson University.

Nearby parks are recreational areas include the Teaneck Creek Conservancy, Van Saun Country Park, the Bergen County Zoo, Overpack County Park and the Flat Rock Brook Nature Center, all located less than a 15-minute drive from the community.

Greystar recently assumed management of another community situated on Hackensack’s Main Street developed by Monocle Group.
