Waypoint Expands Senior Housing Portfolio
The firm purchased The Claiborne at Adelaide in Starkville, Miss., which offers 82 independent and assisted living units. This marks the company's second senior housing investment.
Waypoint Residential has acquired The Claiborne at Adelaide, a senior living community in Starkville, Miss. This purchase marks the firms second senior housing investment by Waypoint.
Located at 74 Claiborne Way, the 82-unit community offers studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans ranging from 336 to 1,670 square feet for independent and assisted living, as well as memory care units. Residents have access to amenities including on-site physical therapy, a salon and a shuttle service to offsite activities and appointments.
“We enter new segments of the rental housing sector strategically and methodically and only after completing significant due diligence,” Jeremy Pemberton, chief acquisition officer at Waypoint, told Multi-Housing News. “We are excited to grow our senior housing portfolio and the acquisition of The Claiborne at Adelaide is not only a great addition, but illustrative of our commitment to the sector.”
The community is adjacent to the Starkville Country Club and within close proximity to Mississippi State University, OCH Regional Medical Center, Starkville Community Theater and Starkville-MSU Symphony Orchestra. Local attractions include art galleries, shopping, dining and entertainment, as well as access to lakes, parks and trails.
