Unusual Amenities to Attract Renters

Bell Partners' new community offers Wii and Xbox as amenities, and allows resents to have non-poisonous frogs.

Bell ApexGreensboro, N.C.—Bell Partners Inc. has added Village Summit to its portfolio with a purchase price of $30.6 million from the Halle Companies. Bell Partners assumes a $20 million loan, held by Connecticut General Life Insurance Company.

Renamed Bell Apex, the 208-unit garden community in the Raleigh suburb of Apex will be managed by Bell Partners. At the time of sale the occupancy rate was 96 percent.

Joseph Cannon, senior vice president of investments, said, “The acquisition of Bell Apex is well aligned with the Bell Partners investment strategy of purchasing well located, high quality apartment communities in our target markets. We are pleased to add this attractive property to our portfolio.”

Built in 2013 by Halle Companies, Bell Apex is made up of eight residential buildings that are each three story. Residents are offered the option to choose from a total of 14 different floorplans for one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom apartments. Prices range from $975 for an 865 square foot, one bedroom unit to a three bedroom, 1,366 square foot apartment at $1,450.

Unit interiors feature full-size washers and dryers, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and vanities, 9-foot ceilings with crown molding, built-in bookshelves and computer desk, ceiling fans, walk-in closets, garden tubs, patios, intrusion alarms and high-speed internet access.

Property amenities include a clubhouse with an attractive resident lounge area a coffee bar, fitness center, game room with Wii, PS3 and Xbox, billiard room and computer work stations. The community also features a “Bark Park” and dog run, a baseball and soccer field, a swimming pool with cabanas, a pond, walking trails, an outdoor fireplace and grilling areas. Bell Apex residents are allowed to have non-traditional pets such as turtles, non-poisonous frogs and hermit crabs.

The property located at 4000 Spotter Drive in Apex is within walking distance of schools, restaurants and shopping with direct access to US-421 and US-64.
