Clemson University Gets New Housing
Stonemont Financial Group began construction on the 45-bed mixed-use community in fall 2016, which will be opening in August 2017. The company hired Advantage Property Management to manage the community.
A new student housing community is coming to Clemson University and will be opening in August 2017. Located at 189 Old Greenville Highway in Clemson, S.C., Plaza One89 will be a 45-bed mixed-use community. Stonemont Financial Group began construction on the project in Fall 2016.
The four-story building will feature two- and four-bedroom floorplan options that are fully furnished. Each apartment will include stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, vinyl plank flooring in the common area, carpet in the bedroom, 60 inch televisions, washer/dryers and balconies. Utilities such as cable, water and trash are included. Students will have access to amenities such as a rooftop patio common area with views of campus and Memorial Stadium across the street, as well as ample parking and controlled access. The pedestrian-friendly community will also offer 6,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space that includes Amici Italian Cafe, who was awarded a 20-unit franchise deal with Stonemont.
“Our goal with Plaza One89 is to create a unique, pedestrian-friendly community that has an unbeatable location,” said Zack Markwell, managing principal & CEO of Stonemont Financial. “We want our residents to enjoy being steps from class while having the luxury of an upscale home away from home during their college career.”
Residents will be able to sign individual leases, meaning they are only responsible for the rent of their individual bed and not the entire apartment. The entire property is also be equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and will employ an on-site maintenance and management staff. Advantage Property Management will be managing the community.
“We’re excited to be bringing a luxury community to Clemson,” Markwell told Multi-Housing News. “We believe it is the best location in town, right across from the stadium. This will be a new kind of community that hasn’t been done in the Clemson market yet.”
