U-Haul has acquired a 575-unit self-storage facility in Sebring, Fla. This acquisition marks the company’s first facility in Sebring.
Formerly known as Starpar Storage, the property is located at 4541 Tanglewood Drive, close to several residential areas. Situated next to U.S. Highway 27 N., between Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute and Lakeshore Mall, the self storage facility is within 6 miles of downtown Sebring. The facility is close to major employers of the area, such as Wells Fargo Bank and Advent Health.
The property is located on a 13-acre lot and the new owner is planning to add drive-in storage units and a warehouse for portable storage containers, said U-Haul Western Florida President Dave Thompson, in a prepared statement. He also added that at least 20 new positions will be opened for the new facility.
Recently, U-Haul started development in two other locations, a 750-unit retail, moving and self storage facility in Princeton, Texas, and a 700-unit self storage facility in Cartersville, Ga. Both projects are expected to be completed in 2024.
