Thompson Thrift will start construction this month on Refinery at Pointe17, a 224-unit luxury community in Phoenix that represents the residential portion of the Pointe17 mixed-use development. Completion is expected in 2025’s second half.

The community is set to comprise one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans averaging 1,000 square feet. Apartments will feature 9-foot ceilings, in-unit washers and dryers, walk-in closets and Alexa-compatible technology packages, along with private balconies or patios for select layouts. Common-area amenities are slated to include a 24-hour fitness center, a heated swimming pool, offices for rent, a dog park, a pet spa and grilling areas, along with 80 EV charging stations.

Located at the intersection of Dove Valley Road and 29th Avenue, the property is off Interstate 17 and roughly 27 miles north of downtown Phoenix. It is also next to the $40 billion Taiwan Semiconductor Plant, which is currently under construction. Multiple retailers have signed leases at the commercial component of the 14-acre Pointe17 and residents will also be less than 6 miles from the Shops at Norterra lifestyle center.

Thompson Thrift currently has nearly 10,000 units in various stages of development across more than 30 properties, according to Yardi Matrix data. Active throughout Sun Belt markets, the company intends to enter the Orlando, Fla., market with a 300-unit luxury multifamily project. Earlier this year, the developer broke ground on a Class A property near Tampa.
