Thompson Thrift has cut the ribbon on Stella, a new Class A multifamily community in San Tan Valley, Ariz., a suburb of Phoenix. Construction is expected to complete this summer, and first residents began moving in this past winter.

Situated on a 20-acre site near North Gary Road and West Hunt Highway, Stella is a 308-unit apartment community consisting of a dozen two- and three-story buildings. The pet-friendly community will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom residences in a variety of layouts. Apartments feature hardwood-style flooring, ceiling fans, smart thermostats and smart hubs. Common-area amenities include pickleball courts, a pair of dog parks, lawn and garden pavilion and pleasant gardens featuring fruit trees and fountains.

Outdoor activities

Stella’s location puts residents jut two miles east of San Tan Mountain Regional Park, a national park offering hiking, biking and exploring. Hunt Highway enables residents to easily access Queen Creek, Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler and Loop 202.

Loop 202’s employment corridor hosts a list of employers including Liberty Mutual, Deloitte, Dignity Health and Isagenix. Ten miles north of Stella is Arizona State University’s Mesa City Center, a state-of-the-art digital media learning center. Residents can also access a pair of airports: Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport and the Chandler Municipal Airport.

At the Stella ribbon cutting, Thompson Thrift presented a check to area non-profit Manes and Miracles, reflecting its dedication to community engagement. The gift is intended to assist efforts in providing adaptive or therapeutic riding, equine-assisted activities and equine-assisted physical therapy for individuals with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. Last month, a joint venture led by Porter Kyle announced it would break ground on The Wayne, a single-family rental community in Chandler, Ariz. Northmarq is arranging the financing agreement for the project.
