Developer EYA and general contractor Donohoe Construction have topped out an 11-story luxury apartment building in Chevy Chase, Md. Marketed as The Lindley, the property is the western anchor of a new 4.5-acre EYA neighborhood along Chevy Chase Lake Drive, one of the first large-scale development projects linked to the Purple Line.
The 200-unit building represents a significant new housing supply in Chevy Chase and is adjacent to the upcoming Connecticut Avenue Light Rail Station, opening in 2022. The Lindley provides easy access to Starbucks, Einstein Brothers and Chevy Chase Lake Supermarket, along with numerous restaurants and stores planned for redevelopment in the surrounding area.
Diverse amenities
Pre-leasing of the apartments will begin in June 2018, while first tenants are expected to move in three months later. The rooftop area features bocce court, grilling stations, lounge seating, a fire pit, dog walk and green roof. Additional building amenities include:
- underground parking
- an adjacent half-acre park
- fitness center
- stand-alone yoga studio
- multiple lounges
- entertainment venue
- children’s play room
“EYA is committed to developing new communities that help reduce our buyers’ auto dependence. Residents of The Lindley will enjoy great commuter access, a host of new and existing dining and retail choices surrounding the building and access to the nearby Capital Crescent Trail for walking, running and cycling,” said McLean Quinn, EYA vice president of Land Acquisition, in a prepared statement.
EYA recently opened another apartment community in Maryland, which is part of a 90-acre redevelopment project through a public-private partnership with Montgomery County.
