Garrett Debuts 1 Indy Project, Breaks Ground on a 2nd
Dubbed The Hangar, the newest suburban property is adjacent to an airport.
The Garrett Cos. has expanded its multifamily portfolio in its hometown of Greenwood, Ind. with the completion of The Hangar, a a three-building, 218-unit community located at 1140 Emerson Pointe Drive. The project’s first residential building finished construction in June and is looking to welcome tenants later this month.
The developer also served as the project’s general contractor and interior designer but tapped Humphreys & Partners Architects to join the project team.
The Hangar has its units sectioned into one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans ranging from 663 to 1,433 square feet. The units were built with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, balconies, kitchen islands and in-unit washer and dryers, while the community’s amenities include a fitness center, package kiosk, pet park, dog spa, outdoor fire pit, pool, yoga room, bike repair station, poolside cabanas and outdoor kitchen. The Hangar will also house Garrett Restaurant Group’s coffee shop, Runway 19, that is set to open in the fall 2023.
As its name suggests, The Hangar is located adjacent to the Indy South Greenwood Airport. The community is also within walking distance to local restaurants, a few miles away from the Greenwood Park Mall and 15 minutes away from downtown Indianapolis.
Building out Greenwood
In addition to opening The Hangar, The Garrett Cos. has already broken ground on its next multifamily project in Greenwood: Oliver Springs, a 226-unit community that will have a clubhouse and similar amenities to The Hangar.
However, this luxury community will have its units in two-story townhome-style buildings. According to The Garrett Cos., each unit of The Oliver Springs will have private entryways and direct access to attached garages. The community is expected for completion in spring of 2025.
While The Garrett Cos. is headquartered in Greenwood, the developer has delivered more than 12,000 units in 50 projects throughout 17 states. The firm’s most recent project in Indiana, the 180-unit Verge Luxury Flats, was sold in January of 2022. In Florida, the developer also sold Drift at the Forum, a 195-unit property located in Fort Meyers.
