The Collective to Open New Brooklyn Co-Living Location

The co-living property is expected to open in 2022 and will include units for students and studios for nightly and monthly stays.

The Collective has expanded its New York portfolio with a $150 million project, marking its sixth acquisition in the U.S. and its fourth in New York City. The 292 North 8th Street (North 8th) co-living property in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn will offer 224 purpose-built units for students and short stays. The company recently opened the largest co-living building in the world: The Collective Canary Wharf, a 705-resident property in London.

The 100,000-square-foot project will accommodate 321 residents and will feature 97 rooms designed for students and 127 studios meant for nightly and monthly stays. North 8th will feature common-area amenities such as a student lounge, classroom spaces, street-facing food and beverage venues, outdoor courtyard, fitness and wellness center and a program of seminars, lectures and think tanks.

Slated to open in 2022, the co-living development will be located adjacent to The Collective’s two previously announced Brooklyn projects: 555 Broadway and 1215 Fulton Street. The company plans to launch 100,000 units by 2025 across the U.S., U.K. and Germany, among other locations.
