Terra’s Miami Beach Glass Tower Nearly Sells-Out Prior to Ground Breaking
Miami-based Terra Group has announced that it has broken ground on its 18-story condominium tower, Glass, and has already sold seven of the 10 full-floor residences. The tower was designed by famed Miami architect Rene Gonzalez.

Miami Beach, Fla.—Miami-based Terra Group has announced that it has broken ground on its 18-story condominium tower, Glass, and has already sold seven of the 10 full-floor residences. The tower was designed by famed Miami architect Rene Gonzalez.
“With the start of construction we are that much closer to delivering a rare opportunity to own an iconic Gonzalez-designed residence in a sought-after neighborhood,” says David Martin, president and COO of Terra Group. “Owning one of only 10 impeccable residences in an intimate tower is unprecedented in South Florida. The response to our collaboration with Rene has been overwhelming.”
The new community, which is slated to be open for occupancy by early 2015, will be the last high rise built in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood due to zoning restrictions. The three remaining units are priced at around $8 million and include about 3,400 square feet of space.
According to a report by The Real Deal earlier this year, the development, which will be located at 120 Ocean Drive, has been in the works since 1993. The original project was named Kallisto and later changed to 120 Ocean before arriving at Glass. The building’s original blueprints were designed by architecture group Arquitectonica before being handed off to Bermello Ajamil and most recently Gonzalez.
The community’s first five floors will be comprised of the common areas, which include the lobby, the pool and gym. Landscape design will be provided by landscape architect Raymond Jungles. Glass will offer additional personalized services to residents including an on-site estate manager, pool and valet services, housekeeping, maintenance and beach service to the community’s 20 reserved spots, as well as 24-hour security.
Residence floor plans range in size from two- to four-bedroom units, all of which feature 360-degree views of the Southern Miami Beach area. The residences will include all-stone kitchens with Sub Zero refrigerators, freezers and wine coolers, as well as induction cooktops, wall ovens, Thermador dishwashers, Gaggenau coffee machines and Scotsman ice machines, and owners will have the option to work directly with Gonzalez to incorporate any custom elements into their residences.
