Sterling Properties Opens NJ Luxury Community

Sterling Properties has opened SOMA, a 69-unit luxury community in Somerville, N.J. Mayor Dennis Sullivan and other town officials attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Comito Associates designed the property, while Mary Cook Associates delivered the interior and common space features.

Located at 110 S. Bridge St. in the city’s downtown area, the community is minutes away from Division Street Plaza and the Main Street corridor. The train station, which offers quick service to Newark Penn Station and New York City, is one block away. Major thoroughfares such as routes 206 and 287 are also within walking distance.

The four-story community includes studios and one- and two-bedroom units ranging from 585 to 1,290 square feet. Building features include tall ceilings, washer/dryer in every unit, stainless steel appliances, while residents have access to a high-end fitness studio, tech lounge and bike sharing program. Additionally, SOMA aims for LEED Gold certification. More than 45 percent of the community has already been leased.  

“Somerville has become a fashionable and highly-desirable residential destination that tops the list when it comes to the state’s most energetic downtown settings,” Sterling Properties Director of Sales and Marketing Nick Hollenbeck said in a prepared statement.

Last year, a Sterling Properties joint venture delivered a luxury rental community in Englewood, N.J.
