Dickinson, N.D.—Because of a local oil boom of the Bakken Shale Formation, Dickinson, N.D., has become a booming residential area. And that is why Sterling Construction, part of The Sterling Group, feels it is the ideal location for its new $32.3 million community.
Sterling has broken ground on Sierra Ridge, a 278-unit Class-A apartment community. The community represents a partnership between Braxton Development, Sterling Development and Baledge LLC.
Once completed, Sierra Ridge will consist of 12 buildings with seven different one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans. The apartments will range from 685 to 1,305 square feet, and rents will range from $1,800 to $3,300.
Apartment amenities will include full-size in-unit washers and dryers, fully equipped kitchens and walk-in closets. Additionally there will be a locker area in each of the buildings, which residents will be able to rent for storage of items that have oil residue.
“We were drawn to Western North Dakota after investigating Bakken/Three Forks Oil Shale Formation and the exponential growth in the Williston Basin.” Lance Swank, president of The Sterling Group, tells MHN. “There is an overwhelming demand for high quality housing in this market and Sierra Ridge Apartments will be unlike any other apartment home community in Western North Dakota. The site amenities for Sierra Ridge will include an extensive lifestyle-focused resident clubhouse with a cyber café with Wi-Fi and fitness center featuring premium equipment, a large outdoor fireplace and grilling venue. Other site amenities will include attached and detached garages, heated exterior storage areas, car/truck plug-ins and convenient locker areas located in each residential building. Sierra Ridge Apartments will emphasize lifestyle in a luxury environment and professional customer focus.”
Additionally, the apartments will be eco-friendly.
“Our apartment homes will also feature Energy Star rated appliances, high efficiency gas heat, and a central trash and recycling collection center,” Swank says. Sierra Ridge is expected to be open in the summer 2013.
