Sparrow Breaks Ground on First Senior Community in Oklahoma
The 168-unit community will be home to residents 55 and over, with a planned completion in the spring of 2022.
Sparrow Partners announced it has kicked off construction on Sage Cobblestone, a 168-unit senior community in Norman, Okla.
Catering to residents aged 55 and over, the suburban Oklahoma City property’s delivery is planned for the spring of 2022. The active adult community will be the first of its kind in Norman and marks Sparrow’s first development in the state.
The 6-acre site is located at 4402 12th Ave. SE, about 2.5 miles from The University of Oklahoma campus and 25 miles north of downtown Oklahoma City.
The community will have a mix of one- and two-bedroom units ranging between 615 and 1,285 square feet in size. Common-area amenities include a pool and sundeck, community garden, fitness center, library and pickleball court. A range of organized activities for residents will be included in the monthly rent.
Fugleberg Koch was the architect, Kimley-Horn acted as engineer and Norris Design was in charge of landscaping on the project. Sparrow Partners is also the general contractor, with Sparrow Living handling management.
Earlier this year, the same development team kicked off construction on another active adult community in Surprise, Ariz. Mera City Center will encompass 193 units and is expected to deliver in the spring of 2021.
