South City Partners Expands Atlanta-Area Footprint
The developer is breaking ground on a 280-unit suburban community.

South City Partners is set to break ground on the 280-unit McDonough Apartments in McDonough, Ga. McShane Construction Co. will build the property, while Dynamik Design is the architect. The community will be part of a mixed-use project that will span 31 acres and will also include for-sale townhomes and retail/commercial space. The multifamily component is slated for a late-2023 delivery.
The three- and four-story multifamily buildings will occupy a 21-acre site. The units will have laundry rooms and mechanical closets. Community amenities are slated to include a clubhouse, game room, fitness room, lobby and parcel room. A pool, pavilion, dog park and car wash will also be available.
McShane Construction Co. also provided pre-construction services for the developer, such as pricing and design feedback in partnership with the design team and ownership. According to Scott Hoppa, Senior Vice President & Regional Manager at McShane, this is the companies’ sixth project together.
Located at 2080 Jonesboro Road, the community will have several dining, shopping and entertainment options within a 1-mile radius, including Urban Air Adventure Park. interstate 75 will be 1 mile east of the property, offering easy access into Atlanta.
Active in other southern markets, McShane Construction Co. has completed in November the development of a 359-unit luxury community in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on behalf of Equity Resources. Dynamik Design provided architectural services for this property as well.
