SLR to Open Austin Luxury High Rise

Austin, Texas—StreetLights Residential is opening The Catherine, 300 luxury apartment homes in Austin Texas.

“SLR focuses on creating distinctive, urban infill communities that add value to the surrounding neighborhoods,” Doug Chesnut, SLR’s CEO, tells MHN. “This particular area of Austin, with its young professional demographic, fits in well with the overall experience of The Catherine. SLR designs developments to rival the experience, lifestyle and amenities of living in an urban boutique hotel, and we believe The Catherine does just that.”

Located at Barton Springs Road and South Congress, residents can enjoy a vibrant, active lifestyle by walking to restaurants, enjoying activities at the lake, and shopping and exploring downtown.

“One of the key components of this development is its walkability factor,” Chesnut says. “With all projects, SLR takes into account the aesthetic of the surrounding neighborhood to ensure the design correlates with the community. We believe the numerous floor plans and desirable amenities and street appeal will attract the demographic in this area.”

The Catherine’s unit mix includes studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans and the interior finishes and features include granite countertops, hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, USB outlet charging ports and Sonos sound in-unit, cove lighting, solar shades on all windows and large customizable walk-in closets.

Community amenities include a resort-style pool, a sky lounge and a deluxe fitness center. Other amenities include Wi-Fi Internet access in common areas as well as a “hounds grounds” area complete with a pet washing station.

According to Chestnut, Austin’s inner core continues to change and the company is excited about the opportunity the area presents.

The Catherine is expected to begin leasing in early fall 2014.
