By Erika Schnitzer, Associate EditorAtlanta–The second phase of Atlanta-based Cousins Properties’ Terminus, the 32-story, 137-unit luxury condominium dubbed 10 Terminus Place, has been completed. Terminus 100 and 200, mixed-use office towers are the first and third phases, respectively, of the Buckhead project. Terminus 200 is expected to be complete in 2009. Two additional residential towers are in the planning phases. All towers have a mixed-use component. The development uses Atlanta’s historic name, Terminus, which was located at the crossroads of two railroad lines, explains Lyle Green, project manager at Cooper Carry, the design firm who worked in collaboration with Durham, N.C.-based Duda/Paine Architects on the development. This project, he says, is “ a series of glass, stone and metal panel buildings that are being developed at the corner of the major intersection in Buckhead.” Located at the intersection of Piedmont Road and Peachtree Street, 10 Terminus Place offers one-, two- and three-bedroom residences, ranging in size from 787 to 4,598 sq. ft. and in price from the low $300,000s to $3.5 million. With 1.1 million sq. ft. of office space in Terminus 100 and 200, as well as a number of four- and five-star restaurants both within and near the development, “we would hope that we capture some of the live/work/play demographic,” notes Jason Frost, project manager at Cousins Properties. Frost adds, “Within one square mile is the finest retail and dining experience in the southeastern U.S.” Additionally, MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) subways are within close proximity of the 10-acre transit-oriented development.Homes feature 10-ft. ceilings; floor-to-ceiling windows; marble countertops, Toto bathroom fixtures and oversized tubs in the bathrooms; Sub-Zero refrigerators, Wolf gas ranges and granite countertops in the kitchens; and covered balconies.Residence balconies “are interesting in that they are in a very urban context, but they offer corner views,” Green tells MHN. “The way that the tower is arranged is in a series of angles, so each unit has an angled view. This allows you to look through corners that you couldn’t see with straight views.”Building amenities include a clubroom with a bar and catering kitchen, pool deck, fitness center, massage/treatment room, media/game room, dog walk and two guest suites. In addition, residents can choose to join the Terminus Club, which offers a number of services, including a golf simulator. The ground floor of 10 Terminus Place is comprised of a number of shops and restaurants, including Bricktop’s and the five-star Las Vegas-based AquaKnox. A Kroger grocery store will be located directly across the street.Deliveries are expected to begin on August 18, and the building is currently 30 percent sold. While Frost admits that the current housing crisis has certainly affected sales, he notes, “We’ve seen a lot of increased traffic as we get closer to delivering.”
