Ryan Companies Breaks Ground on $31.7M Seniors Living Community

The Great Lakes Region of Ryan Companies US Inc. broke ground on its newest age-restricted senior living community in Mokena, Ill.

Naperville, Ill.—The Great Lakes Region of Ryan Companies US Inc. broke ground on its newest age-restricted seniors living community in Mokena, Ill. on August 13. The $31.7 million development, Clarendale of Mokena, will add 156 units to the market and will offer options for independent living, assisted living and memory care and, once completed, will be the first senior living community in Mokena.

Minneapolis-based Elness Swenson Graham Architects Inc. is the architect for the project and Life Care Services, An LCS Company of Des Moines, Iowa will manage the community.

“Ryan’s goal is to offer an appreciably different and distinct choice for residential and supportive care options to older adults who wish to continue comfortable, connected and secure living in the area they call home,” says David Erickson, director of development, Ryan Companies. “We believe Clarendale of Mokena will create opportunities for residents to retain and, in the event of needed supportive services or memory care, restore an already treasured way of life with more ease, peace of mind and value.”

1 Mokena Senior Housing Looking SW 5-16-2014Once delivered, the 11.4-acre community will offer 60 independent living residences, 56 assisted living residences and 40 memory care residences along with common areas for dining and activities. Floor plans options for independent living will be available in one-bedroom, one-bedroom deluxe, one-bedroom plus den, two-bedroom and two-bedroom deluxe floor plans that range in size from 725 to 1,300 square feet. Assisted living options will include studio, one- and two-bedrooms from 440 to 875 square feet, and memory care units will be offered in studio floor plans ranging from 300 to 364 square feet. Rents will depend on size and location of the units.

Amenities at the community are slated to include a bistro, a pub and billiards room, a club room and library, living rooms with fireplaces, a vaulted multipurpose room, a wellness center with salon, a spa and fitness room and a private patio and courtyard. Services will include housekeeping, maintenance and transportation as well as restaurant-style private dining with chef’s specialties, as well as on-site socialization and recreational activities.
