Rosewood Breaks Ground on New Addition to Dallas Mixed-Use Site

MetLife Investment Management has partnered with the developer on the project.

Rosewood Property Co., alongside equity partner MetLife Investment Management, has started construction on The Buckley, a 338-unit apartment development in a northern suburb of Dallas.

The community, which is situated on 4.8 acres near the President George Bush Turnpike in Plano, Texas, is due online in the summer of 2026. This project is the second apartment complex in the mixed-used Heritage Creekside development, which is owned by Rosewood. The first community, the 326-unit Ludlow property, was completed last year with leasing underway.

The Buckley includes layouts that range from studios, averaging 612 square feet, to three-bedroom apartments, averaging 1,562 square feet. All units feature designer finishes with high-end appliances and fixtures. Common amenities include lounge areas, a club and card room, a fitness center, co-working areas, a dog park and courtyards. There is also a resort-style pool at the property.

The success of The Ludlow spurred Rosewood to undertake The Buckley, according to Rosewood Senior Vice President Tim Harris. The company is using the same development team for The Buckley as it did for The Ludlow.

Hensley, Lamkin, Rachel is the architect on the project, while LandDesign has been tasked with landscape design at the property and B2 Architecture + Design is responsible for interior design. Provident General Contractors and KFM, as civil engineer, are also involved. Broadway Bank is the lender of record.

Mixed-use development

Heritage Creekside is a 156-acre mixed-use development that features single-family homes, townhouses and other apartment communities. OrangeTheory Fitness has a location at Heritage Creekside, as do restaurants including Taco Joint, Pax & Beneficia, Flying Fish and Rodeo Goat, with Crossroads Diner planning to open later this year.

Rosewood Property Co., based in Dallas, is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Rosewood Corp. Rosewood and its affiliates have an extensive real estate portfolio, including holdings in land, office, industrial, self-storage and multifamily assets, as well as investments in real estate-associated securities. The company has multifamily experience in other parts of Texas, including The Tobin Estates in San Antonio.
