Dallas–Riverstone Residential Group has named industry veteran, Walt Smith, as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. Smith will lead the overall operations and board of director efforts for Riverstone, a privately owned, third party multifamily property management company in the United States and a subsidiary of CAS Partners.

He has 23 years of experience that includes owning a third-party business, HSC Real Estate that was acquired by Riverstone.

“This is an exciting and re-energizing time for Riverstone as we realign our business services within the company’s umbrella to enhance a strong property management core and demonstrate more clearly to our clients that Riverstone offers a full array of value-add and optional services” says Smith. “Our regional associates, located in 32 offices across the country, continue to offer local expertise and intelligence to provide the highest quality property management services, while benefiting from the extensive national support that only a larger company can provide.”

Riverstone Residential executives and principals, Christy Freeland and Terry Danner, will continue working in leadership capacities with Smith. Both Freeland and Danner will focus on the strategic direction of the company and support Walt in his new role. The goal of the three executives will be to help Riverstone’s clients meet the changing demands of today’s marketplace.

“We’ve enhanced our capability of improving our client’s bottom line by offering client services such as utility management, resident screening, collections, capital improvement services, and group purchasing,” says Danner. “Our large, national platform permits us this ability, but we will never lose focus on real estate as a local business.”
