Resource Real Estate Purchases Virginia Community
Located in Alexandria, The Summit sits close to some of the area’s largest employers and the upcoming AmazonHQ2 in Crystal City.
Resource Apartment REIT III, a Resource Real Estate subsidiary, has acquired The Summit, a 141-unit high-rise community in Alexandria, Va. Yardi Matrix identified the seller as McDowell Properties.

The Summit was completed in 1976 and encompasses one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging in size between 924 and 1,852 square feet. Amenities include spacious floorplans, floor-to-ceiling windows, fitness center, lighted tennis court as well as an outdoor pool with seating and lounge areas.
Located at 260 S. Reynolds St., in the city’s Van Dorn neighborhood, the property is close to a concentration of corporations and major job generators, including Fort Belvoir/Quantic, the Pentagon and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Nearby amenities include eateries and retailers.
Amazon’s HQ2 headquarters in Crystal City, Va., will be a 15-minute drive away, while the upcoming Landmark Mall is just one mile away. There’s also a shuttle bus directly from the community to the Van Dorn metro center, which links the area to downtown Washington, D.C.
