Charlotte, N.C.—Proffitt Dixon Partners has acquired the site for a $40 million multifamily community called Fountains Uptown, located in Charlotte, N.C.

Fountains Uptown, a six-story, pet-friendly building, will include 230 luxury apartments. The units will boast 10-foot ceilings, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, built-in microwaves, ceiling fans, linen closets, controlled-access entry, Internet access, washer and dryers and private patios or balconies. Additionally, several of the apartments will have oversized garden tubs, large master closets, movable kitchen islands and computer niches.

Community amenities will include a clubhouse with a fitness center, Wi-Fi, an entertainment area, pet spa and rooftop patio with views of the Charlotte skyline. Additionally, Fountains Uptown will feature a fountain, saltwater swimming pool, courtyard with gas grills, a bar and a fire pit.

Proffitt Dixon Partners picked the site for Fountains Uptown based on its convenient location near employers such as Duke Energy, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, NASCAR and Chiquita. The community will also be located near Carolinas Medical Center, the Levine Cancer Institute, Levine Children’s Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital and Central Piedmont Community College. Additionally, Fountains Uptown will be near a 15-mile pedestrian and bicycle train from Uptown to the South Carolina Line. It is also near parks such as Pearl Streak Park, Marshall Park, the Metropolitan and Myers Park.

“This is a great location in terms of being convenient to the 79,000 jobs in Uptown and to lifestyle offerings—such as the Little Sugar Creek Greenway—that are important to our target renter,” Stuart Proffitt, managing principal, Proffitt Dixon Partners, says. “Residents can easily access the Greenway to walk their dogs, or go to a job or bike ride. We’ll have a bicycle workshop and storage area as well.”
