Product Spotlight: Ecologic Furniture

The student housing furniture company provides styles and options for residences ranging from state university dorms to luxury off-campus apartment suites.

As with all sectors of multifamily these days, student housing is becoming more competitive and student renters have higher expectations for their living spaces. A spartan twin bed and rec room in the basement don’t cut the mustard for today’s college students, who want apartment-style living with lounge and study areas. To accommodate these spaces as well as the bedroom, Ecologic Furniture developed an extensive collection of sustainably made furniture for student living.

From mattresses to pub tables and barstools, the company covers all student housing furniture needs with pieces that are made from sustainable and recycled material through a green manufacturing process. All pieces are constructed to withstand wear and tear, and the company’s EcoCare program ensures complete customer support. Ecologic also employs a full-service interior design team to develop custom designs.

Each collection offers a loft option, which saves space by combining a bed with a desk, storage or both. Finishes and design range from the “University Village” collections, which feature streamlined, simple designs for the typical dorm room setup – some of which even tout tool-free assembly- to the “Campus Suites” collections, which include options like file cabinets, nightstands  and standard full beds for the off-campus or upperclassmen living arrangement.

The “Lounge” collections are tailored to common areas, and allow for numerous configurations of modular seating and accompanying tables. Happy customers include Illinois State University and Colorado State University and South Dakota State University (SDSU), which turned to Ecologic Furniture when the drawers in its existing pieces started to wear. Housing at SDSU includes furnished rooms, lounge areas, kitchens and laundry facilities, and the company worked with facility staff to create custom furnishings and a unique solution for its existing damaged drawers. Assistant Director of Housing Facilities at SDSU, Bryan Bisson, said “It has been a pleasure working with Ecologic Furniture on several of our projects. They have been with us on each project from start to finish and their furniture has exceeded our expectations.”
