Fifield Cos.’ two newest luxury Chicago apartment properties have reached key leasing milestones.

Logan Apartments, in the city’s near northwest side, has attained full lease-up of the property’s 220 apartments. Westerly, a 188-unit, mixed-use apartment development in the River West enclave, is now two-thirds leased.

Both properties provide a level of features and finishes more commonly associated with luxury downtown Chicago apartment towers. Logan Apartments offers studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, while Westerly features studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units.

In both properties’ residences, features include soft-close cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, open-plan kitchens, custom closet organizers and in-unit washers and dryers. Designed to appeal to work-at-home sensibilities, both Logan Apartments and Westerly provide multiple co-working spaces that also allow for virtual conferencing and small group gatherings.

Neighborhood nods

In both Logan Apartments and Westerly, residents encounter reflections of the Windy City neighborhoods in which they’re located. Logan Apartments features interiors by Brianne Bishop Design that use materials, art and photos paying homage to the Logan Square area.

Design firm Morgante Wilson created the interiors at Westerly, drawing inspiration from River West’s history to invest the property with design elements evoking its industrial heritage.

“The challenges we faced during the lease-up of Logan Apartments were the same for everyone in the position of opening a building at the outset of the pandemic, which was that fewer renters were looking to make a move,” Jon Schneider, senior vice president at Fifield Cos., told Multi-Housing News.

Near-in ease

Both apartment communities benefit from being located in lively urban niches with abundant conveniences. Logan Apartments’ location at 2480-2522 N. Milwaukee Ave., places the property near CTA Blue Line trains to the Loop and Milwaukee Avenue buses and bike lanes.

A small-format Target, as well as eateries and service businesses, occupy space on the building’s ground floor.

Westerly, at 740 N. Aberdeen St., is adjacent to a newly-opened park with public green space, a dog run and seating. Proximity to the Blue Line’s Chicago Avenue subway station and the Kennedy Expressway helps facilitate getting downtown or to other nearby Chicago neighborhoods, such as River North or the West Loop.
