OHT Partners Breaks Ground on Houston Luxury Community
The 315-unit multifamily project is adjacent to a retail center opening this year.
OHT Partners has broken ground on Lenox Bayside, a 315-unit multifamily project in the Clear Lake suburb of Houston. Davies Collaborative is the architect of the project, which is slated for completion in the first half of 2023.
The four-story community will have one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Planned amenities include a coworking area, swimming pool, dog park and pet washing stations, as well as an outdoor grilling area.
Located at the intersection of Gatebrook Drive and Retail Road, the 9-acre development site is next to a 168,500-square-foot retail project. The shopping center will be anchored by a 106,000-square-foot H-E-B grocery store slated for completion at the end of this year.
The property is 5 miles from both NASA’s and Boeing’s Houston headquarters, while downtown Houston is some 20 miles northeast via Interstate 45.
Busy in Houston
To date, OHT Partners has added six Houston multifamily properties to its portfolio and is currently working on three other across in the metro, including Lenox Bayside. As a third-party developer, OHT Partners is working on eight projects in greater Houston, a company spokesperson told Multi-Housing News.
Last year, the company—formerly known as Oden Hugues—started leasing units at Lenox Clear Lake, a 380-apartment community, 5 miles from Lenox Bayside. Draxel, a 259-unit project, is also currently underway in West Houston.
Developers are responding to the metro’s high rental demand. Houston has one of the largest construction pipelines in the U.S., with 9,511 units completed year-to-date through July and another 30,078 units underway. The metro was second only to Dallas, which added 12,654 apartments to the existing stock and had an additional 47,486 under development.
