Oden Hughes and its development partner Desarrollos Delta broke ground on the Amara Apartments in Far Northwest San Antonio.
Located at 19327 Talavera Ridge, the 23-acre project offers 308 units comprising one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans ranging from 600 to 1,365 square feet. Apartment features will include quartz countertops, patios, balconies, private yards, garden baths and walk-in showers, stainless steel appliances, washers and dryers, eight-foot exterior doors, ceiling LED Puck lighting and USB outlets, and brushed nickel finishes. Residents will have access to amenities such as a sky lounge with Hill Country views, a resort-style pool and sundeck, a 24-hour fitness center, billiards and shuffleboards, a dog park with dog wash station, and a large club room with demonstration kitchen. The Amara Apartments project will be located within The Rim, a 700-acre mixed-use development that also includes office and 1.5 million square feet of retail.
Oden Hughes Construction will serve as general contractor and Oden Hughes Management will lease and manage the project. The development was designed by Kelly Grossman Architects. Residences are scheduled to be open in mid-2018. The project is adjacent to the NuStar corporate campus and within a short driving distance to employers and attractions such as USAA, Valero, Security Service Federal Credit Union, University of Texas at San Antonio, The Shops at La Cantera, Top Golf and Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
“San Antonio continues to rank as one of the highest growth metro areas in the country,” Steve Oden, principal of Oden Hughes, told Multi-Housing News. “The strong population growth combined with the diversified and stable job force, make for an excellent real estate market. We expect the solid market conditions to continue and believe the Rim area in particular will continue to be a top destination due to expansion and continued relocation of major employers to the area as well as the marque retail amenities nearby.”
