Novare Group and Mulberry Development Group have broken ground on Cameron Park, a 302-unit, Class A transit-oriented development in Alexandria, Va. Other companies involved include Mill Green Partners, KTGY Architecture and Fortune-Johnson. The project received construction financing from Preferred Apartment Communities and Citizens Bank, and it is slated for completion by the first quarter of 2020.

Located in the West End of Alexandria, in the Landmark/Van Dorn neighborhood, Cameron Park is within walking distance of various parks, dining and shopping options. Additionally, as a transit-oriented development, the community will be near the Van Dorn Metro Station and offers access to Washington D.C. The 219,526-square-foot project will comprise a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units. The live-work-play community will include amenities such as:

  • pool and sun deck
  • grilling stations
  • outdoor cabanas
  • fitness center
  • yoga room
  • clubroom featuring a nanawall
  • game room
  • cyber café
  • business center and private offices

“We are excited to be underway in Alexandria with an experienced partnership including Mulberry Development Group and Preferred Apartment Communities,” said Jim Borders, president of Novare Group, in prepared remarks. “The proximity to Metro, access to D.C., and the setting in the West End area of Alexandria make this an attractive site, where we will build a world-class community with an outstanding amenity package.”

Novare Group is also part of the $1.8 billion master-planned project in Frisco, Texas. The 25-story development kicked off at the beginning of 2018.
