New Orleans’ St. Michael School to Get a Fall Facelift, Courtesy of IREM® and its Local Chapter
St. Michael Special School will be the beneficiary of a special community service project to be undertaken by members of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®) and its local chapter in conjunction with the group’s upcoming national Fall Leadership Conference to be held at the New Orleans Marriott from Oct. 16 to 20.
New Orleans—St. Michael Special School will be the beneficiary of a special community service project to be undertaken by members of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®) and its local chapter in conjunction with the group’s upcoming national Fall Leadership Conference to be held at the New Orleans Marriott from Oct. 16 to 20. IREM, an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors, is a nearly 80-year-old international association of real estate managers serving all property types who focus on maximizing the value of investment real estate.
Slated for Fri., Oct. 19, from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m., IREM® Members’ activities at St. Michael will include: fall landscaping (planting of trees, shrubs, and flowers); painting the activity room in the Joy Center, a facility for young adults; and using participants’ professional expertise to inspect campus buildings and identify future repairs and improvements that are needed. A specific focus of the inspection will address what can be done to save a much-beloved, historic building on the property that has fallen into major disrepair.Funds are being solicited to underwrite the cost of supplies (paint, landscaping materials, tools, etc. As well, in-kind contributions are being sought.
