New Online Resource Helps Property Managers Hire Contractors
A directory of verification tools helps rental managers ensure they hire licensed and insured workmen.
Pompano Beach, Fla.–A new online resource for property managers seeking to hire licensed and insured contractors has hit the web. The service, Property Manager Pages, is a directory of verification tools for rental managers. The website also includes a blog that reports on issues relevant to property owners, managers and landlords, such as landlord-tenant law, current epidemics like bedbugs and foreclosure, as well as seminars and trade shows for the industry. The blog also reports the many “horror stories” resulting from the hiring of unlicensed and uninsured contractors.
The Vendor FAQ section of the site gives state-specific information and advice to those hiring contractors. Jon Booz, director of operations, says that while the company’s mission is to make it easier to ensure that a contractor’s license and insurance are current, the only way to know for sure is to verify at the point of hire. Tips are provided. And a list of state specific information and vendors is currently available for Florida, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and the Washington Metropolitan area.
