Tampa, Fla.–Crescent Communities has broken ground on Crescent Westshore, a 374-unit apartment property in Tampa’s Westshore Business District. The development is expected to open in the summer of 2016.
Crescent Westshore’s four- and five-story buildings will include studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Common amenities will include two resort-style saltwater pools; cabanas and a clubhouse; an athletic center; and a business center.
The property’s location at the intersection of West Boy Scout Blvd. and Lois Ave. will help enhance the surrounding area’s walkability, according to the developer. The location’s Walk Score is currently 59 (“Somewhat Walkable”), according to the organization of the same name.
With nearly 100,000 employees and more than 12 million square feet of office space, the Westshore Business District is a major employment center in Florida, with about 4,000 businesses located there. Crescent Westshore is a member of the Westshore Alliance, an organization dedicated to promoting growth of the Westshore Business District.
The project is financed by Crescent equity, as well as construction loans by Citizens Bank and Nationwide. Dwell Design Studio is the architect for Crescent Westshore, and Summit is the general contractor.
