Mansfield, Texas–Watercrest at Mansfield, an active adult community located south of Fort Worth, Texas, has opened its doors to residents.

Watercrest at Mansfield is located on 12 park-like acres, and features 11 villas and 200 independent living apartments for lease, with prices starting at $1,350 per month.

The gated community offers an array of recreational and social activities. Residents can mingle in the 13,000-square-foot clubhouse, or venture out to the wooded creek area and nature trail. Watercrest includes a massage therapy room, media room, media library, game room, covered and heated salt water pool and fitness center.

Active adult communities are age-restricted. Watercrest is for residents aged 50 and over.

“This is a growing segment of the business,” says Mel Gamzon, senior managing director of Senior Housing Investment Advisors, a real estate investment advisory firm that specializes in seniors housing. The most successful active adult communities provide services to residents that allow them to age in place, he says.

“There has been a lack of new construction, because of the lack of debt capital.” Gamzon says. He expects that situation to continue for the next 12 to 24 months.

A full-time, on-site resident lifestyle director schedules a variety of recreational and social activities for residents at Watercrest, including trips to interesting Metropolex locations, weekly happy hours, and participation in area charitable events.

Other amenities include a hair/nail salon, fitness and learning centers, an arts and crafts classroom center, and massage therapy salon.

The community’s developer is Integrated Real Estate Group.
