New York—The Leonard luxury condominium is more than 80 percent under contract, less than two months after sales were launched at the Northeast Tribeca property. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, a branch of New York City’s Douglas Elliman Real Estate, is leading sales for The Leonard.

The second New York City development from Italy-based Bizzi & Partners Development, The Leonard is a 109-year-old neoclassical building that has been restored and re-envisioned with cutting-edge design, amenities and service to fit a contemporary Tribeca lifestyle.

Once it is completed next summer, The Leonard will offer 66 one- to three-bedroom residences ranging in size from 835 to 1,963 square feet, along with an array of sprawling three- and four-bedroom penthouses as well.

“The Leonard offers a superior product in a vibrant and eclectic neighborhood,” Karen Mansour, executive vice president of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, tells MHN. “From spacious layouts to impeccable service and amenities, The Leonard offers a perfect blend of historic charm and cutting-edge design.”

Generating exceptionally lofty sales levels in a very brief period of time is a daunting challenge for even the best of properties. But sales of The Leonard have gone smoothly. “From the immense sales velocity we have experienced, I would say we haven’t had any obstacles,” Mansour says.

The Leonard’s condominiums feature dramatic ceiling heights of almost 10 to more than15 feet, Appalachian solid oak flooring and exceptional natural light.

Kitchens include custom cabinetry in polished wood and lacquer finishes, large quartzite countertops, deep basin sinks, Miele professional-grade cooktops, multi-purpose islands, Grohe fixtures and Miele and Liebherr appliances.

Master baths offer spa-like comforts, which include sumptuous soaking tubs and frameless glass showers with Grohe fixtures, as well as custom double vanities with backlit mirrors and generous levels of storage.

Highly coveted amenities are also a selling point of The Leonard. They include a rooftop retreat, barbecue and grilling facilities, lounge area and lush vertical garden, children’s playroom and a fully equipped fitness center with water bar. The Leonard’s distinctive lobby, distinguished by wood-paneled columns, 15-foot ceilings, two pendant chandeliers and intimate seating area, is inspired by modern-day Tribeca. Private storage, bicycle storage and refrigeration for groceries are also available.

“The layouts and level of finishes are a major draw to The Leonard,” says Steven Della Salla, managing principal at Bizzi & Partners Development, which is developing The Leonard in partnership with Boris Aronov. “Buyers immediately appreciate the spaciousness and fluidity of the floor plans, especially the living-dining areas, the oversized windows and high ceilings. The amenities and location are just as alluring, so I anticipate homeowners will enjoy living the lifestyle The Leonard affords them overall.”
