Brooklyn, NY.Monadnock, a New York City residential general contractor, has announced a series of promotions to expand its leadership and senior executive team. Established in 1975, Monadnock has steadily grown over the years into one of the largest multifamily contractors and developers in the New York area. In that time Monadnock has built and developed over 14,000 units of housing, including luxury hi-rises, modular and site-built town homes, mid-rise affordable housing, dormitories, supportive housing, and senior housing. “We’ve grown as a company and these are the people who really made it happen,” said Monadnock’s founder Nick Lembo. Some of Monadnock’s current high-profile projects include Hunters Point South Phase 1, MyMicroNY, and PS 186.

Lembo has assumed the title of chairman of Monadnock. A Brooklyn native, Lembo founded the company in 1975 and has served as its president since then. Lembo also founded Capsys Corp., a modular construction company, and founded Monadnock Development, a development firm. He is a graduate of Cornell where he earned his Bachelors in Architecture.

J. Peter Hansen is being promoted to vice chairman. Hansen is a partner in the firm and has served as vice-president for many years after joining the company as a superintendent in 1984. Hansen has been instrumental in maintaining high standards of quality throughout Monadnock’s growth. He studied architecture at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Greg Bauso is being promoted to president. Bauso became a partner in the firm in 2002, after four years as a project manager at Monadnock. Bauso has taken on increased responsibilities within the firm around operations and management. Prior to joining Monadnock, Bauso worked with several general contractors and affordable housing developers.

Anthony O’Haire and Alphonse Lembo are being promoted to partners. O’Haire’s promotion comes with a new role as senior vice president and director of operations, and Lembo’s promotion comes with a new role as vice president of preconstruction. O’Haire received his degree in mechanical engineering from Trinity College, Dublin. He has been working on major projects in New York City for 20 years, the last six at Monadnock. Lembo joined Monadnock in 2010 and is currently a project manager, having worked as a laborer and assistant superintendent prior to 2010. He has also been active in Monadnock Development.  Lembo received his Bachelors at the University of Chicago and earned his Masters in Urban Planning from Harvard University.

Additionally, Paul Colapinto and Michael Ferrari are being promoted to senior vice presidents, and Frank DeVito and Aleks Yelizarovare being promoted to vice presidents and project executives.

Monadnock has grown from a small GC that did renovations in Brooklyn to one of the City’s premier residential GCs with a noted adeptness for complex projects and overcoming technical challenges. From micro-units in Kips Bay and mid-market affordable co-ops in Hell’s Kitchen to complex excavations on Roosevelt Island and in Hunters Point South, Monadnock has built a team to handle even the most difficult challenges. Over 14,000 units later, the company’s leadership feels that now is the right time to continue building for the future.

“Peter and I are honored to have Greg Bauso as President,” said Lembo, “and we are excited to celebrate Anthony O’Haire and Alphonse Lembo’s promotions to Partner, along with the other team members who have been promoted.” He added, “It’s an exceptional team of committed and talented people.”
