By Anuradha Kher, Online News EditorAtlanta–Coro Realty Advisors LLC, an Atlanta-based real estate development firm, has topped off its latest project, Tremont, a $30 million mixed-use urban living community. It is located at 15 Habersham Rd. in Atlanta’s desirable Buckhead neighborhood. Currently under construction and built to EarthCraft House standards, Tremont will feature 78 residential units, including condo units and townhomes, starting from the mid-$200s. The project will also feature 15,000 sq. ft. of commercial space. It is anticipated that the four-story development will open for sale in early January of 2009.EarthCraft House is a green building program adopted by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and Southface, with support from government and industry leaders. A multifamily project under the EarthCraft House rules must meet the following criteria:The Energy Star Certification is mandatory for EarthCraft House certification in buildings that can qualify (generally up to four stories of residential);Buildings that are not eligible for Energy Star Certification must still be modeled and be 15 percent better than the 2004 Energy Code; andFresh air intakes for each unit are also a requirement of the multifamily program.Besides these criteria, the program is flexible and can be customized by individual developers to suit their specific projects within the scoring system.According to Patti Pearlberg, vice president and asset manager for Coro Realty Advisors, this is one of the few residential developments in Buckhead built in compliance with EarthCraft House standards. “We feel that today’s buyers recognize the value and long-term savings provided by this program and it will enhance our sales program,” she says.“We spent a tremendous amount of time in the planning stages of this community. Our goal was to depart from the glass, concrete and steel architecture so prevalent in the marketplace. Instead, the architecture is reminiscent of city dwellings found in Boston and Washington, D.C,” says Pearlberg. There are more than 34 varying plans of one- and two-bedroom townhomes and condos available at Tremont. “Tremont is about choices–we are offering a plan and home for the most discerning city buyer. And, many of the plans offer bonus spaces like dens, libraries or media rooms,” she says.Standard features at Tremont include bamboo flooring in primary rooms, gourmet kitchens with a selection of granite countertops and custom wood Shaker cabinets plus Whirlpool Gold Star appliances, master baths featuring oversized tubs and walk-in showers. Each unit will be pre-wired for stereo and surround sound as well as cable, voice and high speed data service plus programmable thermostats,” she reports. Community features at Tremont include a two-level parking deck providing limited access parking for residents, a clubroom with catering kitchen, exercise facility, an amenity deck featuring a swimming pool, grilling area and informal entertaining areas.
