Glendale, Calif.—A multifamily investor and operator announced the start of leasing at its newest apartment community in Los Angeles County.
Specializing in premier apartment communities across the United States, Mill Creek Residential opened doors at Modera Glendale.
Featuring 235 luxury apartment homes, the community is situated adjacent to the Ventura Freeway about 10 miles north of downtown Los Angeles. Modera Glendale includes five stories of apartment homes, as well as fifth-floor penthouses with second-story mezzanines.
“We are extremely delighted to start leasing this remarkable community in one of the most relevant and booming markets in the nation – Southern California,” said Michael Genthe, Mill Creek Residential’s managing director for Southern California. “Modera Glendale is the first of many communities for us in the area, and it’s an incredible start. This architecturally beautiful community offers exclusive lifestyle enhancing amenities that this generation of renters desire but have probably never seen before and rests in an award-winning city with an array of live-work-play opportunities. We believe it will generate long-term sustainable value for our portfolio, the surrounding neighborhood and our investment partners.”
Named the Los Angeles neighborhood of the year in 2013 by Curbed.com, Glendale is located at the eastern edge of the San Fernando Valley and bordered by the Verdugo Mountains. As part of the Tri-Cities area along with Burbank and Pasadena, Glendale is one of the main business hubs of the northern metro area. North Central Avenue is the major access road of the city and the gateway to the Glendale Central Business District.
The Ventura Freeway provides access to thousands of professional jobs across the metropolitan area. The transit-friendly community is also in close proximity to a number of nearby job opportunities at places such as Disney’s Grand Central Creative Campus, Technicolor, Nestle USA, ACCO Engineered Systems, and Adventist and Glendale Hills hospitals.
Modera Glendale consists of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes. The five levels of wood-framed apartments sit above two levels of parking with one below-grade. In efforts to create a boutique hotel feel, the podium level includes a resort-style pool with cabanas on deck, a spa, outdoor fireplaces, barbecues and rooftop decks.
Indoor community amenities highlight an upscale high-ceiling lobby, leasing office, fitness center and lounge, multipurpose clubhouse, pet-washing station, bike parking and interactive notification package service. Residents have access to Wi-Fi and an Internet café. Two penthouse-floor observation decks provide dramatic views of the city and the mountains.
Unit interiors are equipped with modernized features such as quartz countertops, European cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, faux-wood flooring, and full-sized washer and dryer. Select units have penthouse lofts with floor to ceiling windows.
A multitude of local and national retailers are also nearby, including American at Brand and Glendale Galleria shopping malls, each less than two miles away. High-end retailers at the malls include Nordstrom, Macy’s, Tiffany’s and Apple Store. The vast cuisine options close by include Porto’s Bakery & Café, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, Gauchos Village and Raffi’s Place.
