multifamily newsMilhaus is planning to build Poste, a 124-unit community in Cincinnati’s Walnut Hills neighborhood. Scheduled to open in 2019, the mixed-use project is part of the more than 250 units Milhaus intends to start building in Walnut Hills this year. The company has also announced $245 million of capital investment into Class A, market rate properties across the countries’ secondary cities, including Cincinnati.

Poste will be located on a three-block site bordered by East McMillan, Wayne, Kenton and Copelen streets, just off Interstate 71. The buildings will comprise 18 studios, 73 one- and 28 two-bedroom apartments and five two-bedroom townhomes, featuring nine-foot-high ceilings, wood-style flooring, solid wood cabinets, a washer and dryer, as well as quartz countertops. Poste will feature community amenities such as:

  • lounge
  • urban workshop
  • bike storage
  • private garages
  • 4,345 square feet of commercial space

“At Milhaus, we focus on transforming neighborhoods and enhancing the lives of all residents along the way, and we’re looking forward to doing so with Poste as part of the redevelopment of the burgeoning Walnut Hills neighborhood,” Jake Dietrich, director of development at Milhaus, said in prepared remarks. “Given Cincinnati has seen steady population growth in recent years due to the booming job market, there’s a strong demand for high-quality rental communities in Walnut Hills and across the city.”

Last year, Milhaus also broke ground on a 361-unit community in Kansas City. The project is scheduled for completion this year.
