Multifamily management company MEB Management Services and third-party property management and consulting firm Weller Management have merged. The combined national management company will be known as Bryten Real Estate Partners.

Pre-merger, Phoenix-based MEB Management Services had a staff of 700 and managed more than 27,000 residential units in the southwestern U.S., including 4,200 units in new developments expected to open this year. Another 5,000-plus new units under development are under contract for mid-2024 into 2025. Weller, meanwhile, employed 450 staff members and managed almost 20,000 units.

Diverse portfolio

The new enterprise’s portfolio includes mid-rise, garden-style, build-to-rent and luxury communities, as well as new development, student living, eco-sustainable living and attainable housing properties. Bryten’s offerings go beyond property management to advisory capacity construction management and asset repositioning.

Bryen Real Estate Partners employs 1,150 and manages almost 47,000 units across the U.S. in Arizona, New Mexico, Tennessee, Florida, Colorado, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, New York and Texas.

Officials from both parent companies worked for more than a year on the merger. Bryten will maintain its headquarters in Phoenix and will have three other offices in Tucson, Ariz., Denver and St. Petersburg, Fla.

The firm plans to diversify its portfolio in terms of both product type and geography.
