Macallan Group JV Breaks Ground North of Atlanta
Completion is expected in 2024.
Summit Contracting Group, a multifamily general contractor, is kicking off construction on a 214-unit property in Gainesville, Ga. Development is set to wrap up in the spring of 2024. Dynamik Design is the architect, with The Macallan Group and McNeal Development part of the development team.
Located off Banks Street and Queen City Parkway, Midland Gainesville will be situated a few minutes from Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport.
The community will encompass three buildings with studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments. Common-area amenities are set to include a swimming pool, fitness studio, yoga studio, rooftop clubroom, outdoor entertainment area and covered porch. Units will offer walk-in closets, granite countertops and energy-saving appliances.
Marc Padgett, president of Summit Contracting Group, said in prepared remarks that the Gainesville area is recording increased demand. Suburban Atlanta had 11,666 units under construction as of mid-August, according to Yardi Matrix data, with work starting on 2,777 apartments year-to-date therough July. Metro Atlanta continues to display healthy fundamentals, with the average rent up 1.2 percent in July alone, according to the same data provider.
